What Does A Light Yellow Vaginal Discharge Indicate?

I have been having a discharge that according to my gynecologist isn t from the vaginal area. I have not gone to a urologist because I did not know how to explain what the discharge looks like. However it like having a blood clot that isn t blood, it kind of pale to light yellow but thicker than urine. Any clues?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

A light yellow vaginal discharge can indicate several things, including a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or a sexually transmitted infection (STI). Certain medications, changes in hormones, or changes in ions can also cause it. It is essential to consult a healthcare provider for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. The discharge description you gave me does not sound normal and requires further evaluation by a medical professional.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
