What Does A Lump At The Base Of The Skull Indicate?

I have a lump where my skull and neck stem meet. I have had it for a few years now. It itches from time to time and my head is sensitive to hair pins, ponytails, and any hair manipulation in that area. Could this be a cyst and is this something that needs to be looked at. When it first appeared a few yrs ago, my Dr didn t think it was anything to worry about so no test were ever done.

Hello,

As per your history it looks like a benign lesion. Nothing to worry. It could be sebaceous cyst or lipoma, if its size increases that you need to worry and show it to a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
