What Does A Lump At The Site Of An Inguinal Hernia Surgery Indicate?

I had laparoscopic double inguinal hernia surgery 9 days ago. Everything has been great and pain has been going away each day. Today I noticed on left inguinal side, I have a small (finger size) lump that is fairly hard. I have been coughing today from allergies. The lump isn t painful, and doesn t really protrude, but when I touch my left groin side, (where I m assuming the repair would have been) it s there.
