What Does A Lump Below The Tongue Indicate?

I have had a cold for a very long time. 2.5 weeks in February and since March 11 onwards. My nose is now fine and my lungs are clear. But I have had a dry raspy throats ever since. It sometimes feels like I have asthma. Massage and chiropractic adjustments help relieve the feeling of tightness and I do not need to dry cough as much. I have been to my family doctor many times and to an ENT specialist twice. I notice that on my left side just below the tongue a pea size white node that is not always apparent but there none the less - is that an infection - just want to return to normal- while I m am slowly getting there as a 60 year old my recovery is slow and disappointing. So there you have it is that pea sized node something to be looked at?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It may be an infected aphthous ulcer. You can try triamcinolone mouth paste. If persists, better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
