Hello,

Something easier to do and that is generally done within the day and does not need much approval is an ultrasound of the lump. It will give a lot of information while you are waiting for the MRI. An xray of the arm will also help identify problems with the bone as well.
So I would recommend you to talk with your doctor and order an xray and an ultrasound of the arm which will tell you a lot of information while you are waiting for the MRI.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
