What Does A Lump In The Groin Area Of A Child Indicate?

My 12 year old granddaughter has a cyst like bump in the crease of her thigh next to her vagina. She has had it for almost a year. Her PCP didn t look at it, but prescribed a wash for it. She has been having her period since July 2016. She also has acne on her face and back. Is this related or is it something we should take her to the doctor for again?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
A lump in the groin area may be a cyst, hernia, lymph node or a skin tumor.I will suggest you insist your PCP examines the lump and if need be, you get the opinion of a surgeon.
As for her acne, i will suggest you get her examined by the Dermatologist since acne is extensive.Over the counter measures even though may give good results will not be the best in her case. The two conditions she is presenting may not be related.
Hope this will help
Best regards
