What Does A Lump In The Upper Abdomen Indicate?

I am 25 years old (male). I can feel a small (2 inches or less) bulge/bump in my upper right abdomen, below my rib cage. It runs diagonal on my torso, parallel to my rib cage. It isn t painful, and I cannot feel it when I lay down. I have not noticed much change in my bowel habits, but I am mildly constiptated fairly often.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are having lump in right side abdomen. Kindly, mention whether it seems to be soft tissue lesion or lesion in organ beneath it. Ultrasonography of local part is advisable.

If it is abscess, then antibiotic course or incision and drainage needed. If it is mass, then FNAC might be needed. Also, consult a surgeon for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
