Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I found a pea size lump in my neck 2 months ago didn t think anything of it till Tuesday when I noticed it got bigger saw the doctor they did labs and I had a ultrasound next day lab results came back normal and us report said 2cm solid vascular nodule in left lobe. They now want to do a ultrasound guided FNA. Should I be concerned or is this standard procedure?
Hi...you should be careful in that procedure because sonography guided aspiration is not done repetedly. .its should be done only for once because repeated procedure can lead to fibrosis, making things more complicated ..first off all you should get FNAC done and if everything is ok...then get it removed surgically as it's a permanent solution, moreover There are chances for recurrences in sonography guided FNAC...
