What Does A Lump On Shin Indicate?

I have a lump on my shin that has been there for a couple weeks. I bruised it playing soccer - it swelled up slightly and I had a huge bruise right away. The bruise is now gone, but I still have a lump/knot on the injury site that is only painful when I touch it. Is this an issue, or will it heal on its own?

it could be an infected sebaceous cyst or just hair infection or an abscess

a course of antibiotics is recommended

in worse case you need to consult a surgeon
