What Does A Lump On The Back Indicate?

Hello. I have a bulge in the middle of my back. If I try to any kind of physical activity, even just a walk around the block. The pain extends from the bulge to through the muscles on the left and right side. The bulge developed because of a physical trauma (I threw my back out. In addition to the bulge, I have two herniated discs at L-5, S-1). I have had X-rays and mri s and nothing shows up. Any possible ideas on what is going on?
