What Does A Lump On The Forearm Indicate?

10 days ago I had an injury to my left forearm. Went to pcp and they xrayed it. No fracture but it is badly brused. I have a hard lump which I believe she said it was a hemotoma. (Not sure if she was calling the lump or the bruise a hemotoma.) It is still extremely sore and the lump is still hard. I have a burning sensation that comes and goes. I used ice immediately after and then 3 days later I began heat for 20 minutes and then ice for 20 minutes about 3 times a day. My question is I know it is going to take time to heal, but is there anything I can do to make it more comfortable other than taking tylenol?
