What Does A Lump On The Right Leg Indicate?

I have one single bump on my right leg, outside, a little below my knee. Thought it was a bug bite but it has been several months and it remains, has gotten worst, looks like it is pus filled but hard and is painful to touch. Also, it is located on top of a spot were I have a clump of spider veins.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query.

It looks to me like an abscess and the exact cause may be bite or injury that you didnt notice. in early phases it can be treated with antibiotics but if this is severe already then the best option would be surgical incision and drainage. This is permanent solution Then pus sample can be taken for microbiologic analysis.
Also it may be inflammed subcutaneous lesion such as lipoma, fibroma or atheroma andthe treatment is the same as for abscess so surgical consultation is necessary
Then it there are doubts it can be sent to the patohistologic analysis.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
