What Does A Lump On The Shoulder Blade Indicate?

Hi I just noticed a small lump on the shoulder blade of my 12m daughter. It s soft and doesn t seem to cause pain - she didn t react when I touched it tonight. It s skin like color, not red. There are 2 veins running around it so it takes a bluish color. What can it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to lipoma.

Lipomas are common, usually asymptomatic tumours composed of adipose tissue.

If they become large they can be treated through surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
