What Does A Lump On The Skull Indicate?

I have a what feels like thickening of my skull on the crown/top/back of my head. It s a lump that feels boney. It itches at times. It has been there for at least 10 years but occasionally, as now, itches and has grown a little, I think. I am guessing it is a bone spur . Possible or not?

As per my surgical experience, the issue of long term asymptomatic lump over scalp indicates osteoma most likely.

However, a clinical examination and X-ray skull is mandatory to confirm the diagnosis.
