What Does A Lump Under The Ribcage Indicate?

My son is 20 years old and has lost about 30 pounds in the past three months. I took him to a doctor about a month ago and they did full bloodwork. Nothing showed up as abnormal and the doctor said he is healthy and not to worry about his weight. He noticed today that he has a lump the size of an apricot under his ribcage on the right side. Could this be something serious?
