Hello,

A lump or chain shaped rounds near mouth wall of the base of the tongue on the left side seems to be due to swelling of the circumvallate papillae. Circumvallate papillae are a large bunch of papillae present at the back one-third of the tongue. It can be swollen due to causes like oral and throat infection, postnasal drip, burning with hot foods and chemicals, acid reflux etcetera. Consult an oral physician and get evaluated. For now,
-Do warm saline gargles.
-Do antiseptic mouthwash gargles.
-Do cool water rinses.
-Avoid spicy and acidic foods.
-Drink plenty of water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
