What Does A Movable Lump On The Forearm Indicate?

Unlike another person s past question, my husband just noticed a pea sized lump on his forearm, but his does move. I will take a picture and keep an eye in size and color change, if any and if he starts to experience pain as suggested with others, but in the meantime, should he go and see a specialist? I really don t feel his pcp would have too much to say on this type of matter.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are typical of lipoma. It is a benign (non-cancerous) lump consists of fat lobules.

Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated. Nothing much to worry and it can be easily removed under local anesthesia. If there is diagnostic confusion a fine needle biopsy may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
