What Does A Painful Lump On The Navel Indicate?
Hi my sister has a perfectly rounded ball on her bellybutton it causes her a lot of pain you can feel it when touching but can t see the bump on the outside. The doctor said is not a hernia it s a tumor can that be possible? She is just 21 and we want a second opinion before doing sonogram. Thank you

A tumor is the term used for a mass. This may be benign (not cancer) or cancerous.
The mass/tumor may not be dangerous to her help but the only definite way of determining the nature of it would be imaging by ultrasound.
The ultrasound would be able to see the type of structure and would let her know if it is benign or cancerous.
