What Does A Painful Lump On Top Of Calf Muscle Indicate?

I have a 2 by .5 painful lump on top of my calf muscle 1 back from my shin & 4 below my knee on the inside of my leg. The veins below it are more pronounced. I ve had fatty tumors in my calves for years, they never hurt and were more in the muscle.

I really appreciate your concern, what the history is given here for the lesion so it seems Lipoma and no need to worry about this, only if this is increasing in size and causes some discomfort then and then one could think about removing the lesion, for final diagnosis may needs some imaging studies, hope this information helps.
