What Does A Popping Sound On The Ribs Followed By Pain Indicate?

Hi - Today when playing with our dogs I was laying on my side and my arm was folded under me my husband layed on me and I heard and felt a loud pop in my ribs. I have been having pain and discomfort ever since. Do you think this is something I need to see my doctor for

I really appreciate your concern, of course such injury should be investigated for fracture part of ribs and it is advisable to see the orthopedic surgeon, hope this information helps, take care.
