Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does A Popping Sound Upon Stretching The Arms Indicate?
I was stretching my arms over my head and my left elbow made a pop sound and had a little pain. didn t think anything about it until I shot a basketball. I extended my left arm over my head a was in extreme pain. as long as I keep my arm bent its fine.
Are you a basketball player? Since when you're having this pain?! Elbow tendinitis is a common problem with basketball players. It may be simple arthritis or a muscle spasm or gas Popping sound etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Take rest, use cold and warm compression. Use tablet. Naprosyn twice a day for five days.
If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
