What Does A Rash On The Lower Abdomen Indicate?

I woke up this morning with a weird perfect oval on my lower-right abdomen. The line is very thin, & a small red dot in the center. I ve never seen anything like it. It almost looks like someone gave me a shot with a suction cup around the needle. It s a little tender to the touch, too.

Hello,

That is called Target lesion seen in Erythema Multiforme.

It is a hypersensitivity reaction usually triggered by infections, most commonly herpes simplex virus (HSV). It presents with a skin eruption characterised by a typical target lesion.

There may be mucous membrane involvement. It is acute and self-limiting, usually resolving without complications. Please consult your Dermatologist, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
