General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

With a history of sores on the skin, it is possible that the lesions are related to shingles infection.

Shingles can be associated with significant pain as well. In some persons the pain persists after the rash has resolved.
It would be associated with sores that would then dry up.

Though normal pain killers can be used with shingles, in some cases stronger medications or medications that are used for neuropathy maybe helpful.
Neuropathy refers to abnormal function the nerves, it is thought to be the reason for the pain associated with shingles.

I hope this helps
