My son has a red mark on the his left side tip of his tongue. its not a raised bump, and its just a little darker than the colour of his tongue. Its about 1cmin width. He's just over 2 and a half years and the mark isnt bothering him, just want to rule anything serious out. Thanks
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms common cause of a red spot on tongue can be due to injury to the tip of tongue caused by tongue bite or injury caused by some object placed in mouth or even can be with a toothbrush.. It can also be due to a broken blood vessel.. Nothing to worry about it and keep a watch that the size of the mark reduces or not.. If it reduces gradually then there is nothing to be done as gradually it will resolve but in case if it does not resolve or increases in size consult a Pedodontist and get evaluated for Hemangioma.
Hope this information helps..
