What Does A Red Mole On The Scalp Indicate?

Hi, I noticed a pinkish red mole on my scalp, but not until I got a little sunburn the other day. The rest of my scalp is white but this particular area is red and has a slight scab. It is circular but not very big in diameter. I think the scab may be from scratching and picking at it. Is the cancer? It is slightly raised as well.
