Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good evening , my daughter came home from school, with a reddish rash above her top lip , it looks like she gas drink rivrna and it L s given her a moustache. We popped to pharmacy and he suggested moisturizer for a couple of days , but nay prescribe another cream if not clearing up over weekend. Should I be worried and contact gp , she is worried about appearance for school tomorrow. Thank you
The symptoms looks like to be due to some form of allergy causing dermatitis which is giving you a moustache like appearrence.. It ca be due to biting of some insect or bug or coming in contact with some toxic chemical etc.. Applying only moisturiser is not enough and you should give her some anti allergics like Benadryl and along with it apply Calamine lotion over the rash.. Rub ice over the rash and do cool compresses intermittently.. Hopefully the rash will start fading gradually.. But if the rash exaggerate or there are any other symptoms then you should consult an Emergency room and get her examined.. For now nothing to worry..
Hope this information helps you..
Regards.
