What Does A Red Spot On Toe Indicate?

I have a red spot on the top of my second toe. It feels as though it has been rubbed raw because of my sock or shoe, but I have had this before and I fear it isn t something that comes from normal rubbing from my feet. It comes back in the same place and I often get it on the other foot at the same place. Do you have an idea of what it could be?

Hello,

I can understand your concern for the red spot on toe. After analyzing the query I can get that you probably have a bruise over the affected area. There is second possibility of mild fungal infection also. It requires either a close picture or a close examination of the area to diagnosis the exact entity.
I suggest you to observe the area for few days of period and if it increases then should consult a dermatologist.
In my patients with your kind of condition I generally suggest to do keep the area dry and can use anti-perspirant powder for two times. I also prescribe an antifungal cream such as clotirimazole cream for local application in case if I find the cause to be fungal infection. You can take further guidance from a dermatologist.
