What Does A Roaring Sound In The Ears Indicate?

About 2weeks ago I began noticing a roaring sound in my ears. It sounded like a radio station slightly off signal or like I was in a well. I have been to an END and had a hearing test after he cleaned out my ears . He could not determine why this has happened. It is getting worse and my head seems stopped up . It hurts to move my eyes and the back of my head hurts near the base of my skull. What is going on?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be suffering from tinnitus of the ear it may be due to nerve damage or eustachian tube block or middle ear infection or temporomandibular joint problems or hypertension etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking and alcohol intake. Use tablet cognix plus twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
