Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a long, straight scab-like area in my butt crack, starting from my hole and ending about two inches below my lower back. It s usually wet with what I assume is pus, and I have only recently noticed it, so I don t know how long it s been there. It sometimes hurts, sometime doesn t, but there isn t any bumps or openings, just sore skin and a small, scab-like ridge.
Hello, Welcome to HCM. I can understand your problem. It may be either due to fungal infection or bacterial infection or both. Wetness may be due to pus or it may be serous discharge. Butt crack area is hot & humid, so prone to such kind of infections. You haven't mentioned whether you have itching or not. Best thing would be to consult a dermatologist and get diagnosed. Or You can apply combination of anti-fungal, anti-bacterial along with steroid cream. Fluconazole, clotrimazole or ketoconazole are available in combination with anti bacterial like gentamicine. You should apply steroid only if you have itching. Betamethasone cream is best for this purpose. See a dermatologist if it does not relieve the problem. Hope this will be helpful. Do ask if any further question is there. Thanks for using HCM. Take care.
