Can you mention what were your symptoms and why X-ray was ordered? Also, it would helpful if you can send a picture of the X-ray.
A shadow in chest X-ray not responding to first line antibiotic can be an infection caused by unusual pathogens like tuberculosis, an enlarged lymph node, a fluid collection around lungs or rarely a tumor. Symptoms present, appearance on X-ray and report of further imaging all will help us to find out the cause. Your doctor will guide you. Anyhow, it is unlikely to be related to COPD.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
