What Does A Small Hard Lump Covered By A Bruise On Forearm Suggest?
I have a small bruise on my the inside of my forearm underneath the bruise is a hard pea sized lump. I noticed it about a week ago and it hasn t gotten any bigger or smaller I did not bang or hit it so not sure why it has appeared. I am a 44 year old female in decent health exercise regularly and have a fairly decent diet.
Small hard lump on the forearm covered by a bruise is indicative of some type of blunt trauma that has caused a hard lump to develop. It can also be formed due to insect bite or skin conditions that cause cysts, fatty tissue growth (lipoma), cysts, abscess or cancer.
Get clinically assessed by a dermatologist, get a biopsy done to stay on the safer side. If required it can be removed. You can apply ointment Thrombophob on the bruise. If it is inflamed or painful, it can be treated with medicines like a course of oral Augmentin and analgesics. Get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
