What Does A Small Raised Bump On The Inner Thigh Indicate?

My 7 year old son has a small raised bump on his inner thigh. It has turned red around it and appears to have a pimple like core in the center. I m worried it might be a staph infection, but am not sure if we need medical attention quickly or if it can wait until the weekday.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
understand your concern
Bump in the inner thigh could be due to hair follicle infection, friction injury and abscess formation.
I would suggest to consult the primary care physician and examination is must for the diagnosis.
Following treatment will helpful:
Apply mupirocin ointment
Apply warm pad application
Take frequent hot bath
Avoid friction and wear pure cotton loose clothes
Hope this may help you

Best regards
