What Does A Soft Bubble In The Left Nostril Indicate?

I have a soft bubble in my left nostril that decreases and increases in size. At times the airflow is completely blocked. There is tenderness at times and slight drainage at times. I noticed this after aggressively blowing my nose. Could I have caused a tissue herniation?

Hello,
thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

As per your description it seems like a nasal polyp. Nasal polyps are a harm less condition caused by protrusion of lining mucosa of your sinuses in to nasal cavity. This is not a hernia actually. We have to rule out some other condition before commencing the treatment.
You don't need to worry regarding this as it can be cured effectively with treatment.
I suggest you tto consult an ENT specialist and get the following things done:-
(1)- A detailed evaluation of your nose to confirm the diagnosis and rule out some other ENT conditions.
(2)- CT scan may be needed to assess size and extend of the lesion.
(3)- As a first line therapy nasal decongestants like xylometazoline can be tried in case of blocked nostrils.
(4)- Antihistamines like levocetrezine would provide symptomatic relief.
(5)-You can also use steroid nasal sprays which might help to shrink the swelling.
If above said conservative measures fail, you may require minor surgical procedure to remove the protruding polyp. Nowadays endoscopic methods are preferred and they are done on an out patient basis and you can leave the hospital o the same day.

Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
