What Does A Soft Spot Under The Tongue Indicate?

I have a grainy feeling on the soft spot under my tongue when I touch it with the tip of my tonge. It's at the base of the frenulum on my tongu extinging to the base of the lower teeth. It feels like powdered sugar that won't go away. I noticed it after eating a big Christmas dinner and drinking champagne and beer. What could it be?

As per your complain grainy feeling of the lingual frenulum after eating a heavy dinner and alcohol seems to be most probably due to formation of small sores on the frenulum that can be due to spicy foods, hard foods, chemicals like alcohol, heavy meals etc. Nothing to worry as it will improve gradually. As of now you should do warm saline gargles..You should avoid hard foods and spicy meals. Drink plenty of water. In case if there is no improvement then consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
