Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I have a lump under the skin on my right jaw. It is not on the surface of the skin and can only be felt with I run my thumb along my jawline. When I press on the lump it seems to almost "pop" further under my jaw. It is slightly sore, and the other side of my jaw has no lumps, or swelling. Any ideas?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a sore moveable lump under the jawline seems to be due to swollen and inflamed submandibular lymph node causing submandibular lymphadenopatyh and occurs commonly due to infection in Head and neck area..
It can be related to dental and throat infections commonly..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis.. He can also advise you a Biopsy or FNAC of the nodes to confirm the diagnosis.. An ultrasound can also be advised.. In case of infection antibiotics like Amoxicillin and Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
