What Does A Sore On The Lips Indicate?

I have a sore lip that looks like cancer but isn't looks and feels wet and I get these once a year. It always seems when I have been really stressed I get this sore wet lip. It usually takes a week or two to go away. Oral medicine doesn't help what can i try?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

A sore lip that occurs once or twice an year is not cancerous.
This is because the cancerous sores does not heal and remain persistent as it is or keep spreading..
So do not worry about cancer..

Secondly sore, wet lip can be due to causes like inflammation, allergic reaction, excessive sun exposure, bacterial or fungal infection..

So next time if you get the symptoms better get it checked to rule out the exact cause of the symptoms and treatment can be done accordingly..

Always maintain a good hygiene of the lips, apply sun protection containing lip balm and also avoid licking or sucking the lips..
Also avoid harsh chemical cosmetics..
