What Does A Sore Spot Below The Knee Indicate?

One week ago on my right leg just below the knee on the inside of the leg I had a sore spot. The next day that sore spot had spread upward some and had a small knot. The next day I was on my feet a lot and my leg got to really hurting just to the left of right behind my knee. It was extremely sore to the touch and had a larger knot today about the size of quarter. I tried to stay off of my leg and the knot went down and after three days the soreness was not as bad but it did seem to move up the leg some more. This morning I noticed that the soreness is worse again and had moved about half way up my inner thigh and there is a knot again. The more I am on that leg the worse it hurts today! What should I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a contusion. As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
