What Does A Spot In The Lung Indicate?

I have a specific spot in my lungs that hurts. I smoke daily and know how my lungs sometimes feel sore but this pain has stayed in one spot. Its not a sharp pain, more like it feels like a sore has formed or something. I realize im over reacting when my first thought is cancer but what else could it be? It doesn t get worse with deep breathes but causes a slight (just annoying) constant pain.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,

You have to get a chest X-ray and preferably spirometry is done. It would be best to consult a pulmonologist and proceed accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
