What Does A Spotted Mole On The Back Indicate?

My husband ask me to look at his back.I spotted a mole that I noticed some time ago.....this time the base Or surrounding area felt hard ,like a core of something. The closer I looked the head of the mole lifted but still attached I told I was not goin to squeeze.( there is white inflamed chalk looking stuff inside the hole) It looks dry.Should I be concerned? I contacted his PCP for a referral to a Dermatologist....still waiting. Aj

General Surgeon 's  Response
It seems that the mole is infected, hence the discharge. Since the base and surrounding area of the mole is feeling hard to touch, it is best to excise it with at lease a 5 millimeter healthy margin all around the mole and send it for an histopathological investigation. You may please consult a general surgeon for this. Once the report is obtained, doctor will advise you as per the HPE report.
