Hi,
Hashimoto's
thyroiditis is an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid gland. It does not typically cause lymph nodes to swell in the groin area. However,
swollen lymph nodes can be a sign of infection or inflammation in the body, and people with
autoimmune disorders may be at increased risk for infections.
If you have a swollen lymph node that has not gone away after a month, it is important to see a healthcare provider for further evaluation. They may recommend imaging tests, such as an
ultrasound or
CT scan, to better evaluate the lymph node. In some cases, a biopsy may be necessary to determine the cause of the swelling.
While it is not necessarily related to Hashimoto's, it is important to rule out any underlying health issues that may be causing the swollen lymph node. In the meantime, try to avoid activities that cause pain or discomfort in the area, and practice good hygiene to reduce the risk of infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
