What Does A White Bump On An Old Scar Indicate?

Hi, I have an old scar on the top of my forehead. A white bump has formed on it over time. It does not hurt or itch. It I just annoying to have as it looks like a large whitehead and I am embarrassed of it. I know it is not an actual pimple as I have had it for several years. I was wondering what the best solution to get rid of it would be or what it is exactly..

Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

The white bump that you notice is most likely a secondary milium.
They are actually small cysts and are formed mostly due to occlusion/clogging of the ducts of the sweat glands secondary to injury and fibrous tissue of a scar.
They can be of some cosmetic concern and are otherwise of no significance.
Treatment is extraction of the clogged contents by de-roofing the cyst with a small needle. This is curative.
I suggest you to visit a dermatologist for the needful.

Regards
