What Does A White Line On Lip Indicate?

So everyday , I end up with a white line on my upper lip , especially when I wear lipgloss , it leaves a white line that won t come off . I have to take carmax everywhere I go , I have to put carmax on everytime I feel like it s dryed , because if I dont I will start to lick my upper lip & it will leave a white line , I hate it & I want it to come off forever , nobody else has it , it s so embarrassing . Help me please

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . The symptoms you mention is clear cut indication of condition known as chapped lips . There is a natural moist film on the lips , but when we lick or pick our lips it will remove the natural layer which causes lip crack and dryness .

There are other factors too which give rise to such condition like stress or dry weather .

I would suggest you to :-

- Avoid licking and picking of lips .

- Apply lip balm containing SPF 15 to protect the lips from sun exposure . Because crack or dry lips are prone to sunburn.

- Avoid dry environment and drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to keep yourself hydrated .

- Take vitamin B complex daily.

I condition doesn't get better in 7-10 day then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation . Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment or antibiotics . Do may also recommend exfoliation of lip.
