Hello,
I can understand your concern. Unfortunately, you could not attach the link to your x-ray with the query and so I am almost in the same situation as your
dentist for answering the question. Also, lower jaw is a very vague description. If you had described the exact location (whether inside the mouth or outside), size, texture, if painless or painful etc., then it would have been easy to suggest some provisional diagnosis.
However, as your dentist suggested, a white spot could be salivary stone, a spot where apthous ulcer or
canker sore might develop later, a
sinus draining an
abscess underneath or some small tumor like lesion.
I would also recommend you to wait till you see the oral surgeon for diagnosis. You might need to go for
biopsy of the spot to find out what exactly it is. Treatment can be decided based on the biopsy results.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
