What Does A Yellow Lump On The Tonsils Indicate?

Hi. Just had a cold with sore throat, followed by nasal congestion and post nasal drip. I noticed that in the past few days, a yellow lump appeared on my left tonsil. The tonsil appears with widened capillaries. Attaching a pic. I think there is a bit of soreness also. No fever. What is this leison?

Hello,

Without an exam, I can only give general information. AND localized infection will produce discoloured lumps. Obviously, bacterial boils will do this, but more common and less obviously, common viruses do this also.
