What Does Ab Reactive & Ag Nonreactive Mean?

1) I have HB E AB - Reactive A (nonreactive)
2) I have HB E AG - Nonreactive (nonreactive)
3) Hep B Virus DNA 42,321
4) Hep B Virus DNA 246,308
My question is: What does the ab reactive mean? What does the ag nonactive mean? Do I have to be on meds because my dna is 42,321? Does the 246,308 mean how many copies of the virus is being created or has created. I need some clarity please. Thank you

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The term 'reactive' implies that the test for antigen or antibody is positive.
The term 'non-reactive' implies that the test is negative.
Your test shows that the 'e' antigen for hepatitis B virus (HBe) is positive i.e. the antigen is present and the antibody is negative or not present.
Thus, the 'e' antigen is present but the antibody is not produced.
Presence of 'e' antigen is suggestive of infectious state.
The report shows presence of thousands of copies of hepatitis B virus.

Thus, you are suffering from hepatitis B infection with very high interactivity.

Consult your treating doctor / primary healthcare provider for further management.

Thanks and take care
