What Does Abdominal Pain On The Right Side Indicate?

Hi, i felt abdominal pain on the right side and when i go to have a check up the internal medicine thought it might be acute appendicitis but it was ruled out and then he refer me to OB gyne, i had whole abdomen ultrasound and trans vaginal, everything seems okay but the OB notice that on the report it shows pelvicalyceal system is mildly dilated on right side, and she refer to UROLOGIST. What does it mean about pelvicalyceal system is mildly dilated on right side? Thank you.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It may indicate that there was a previous blockage in some aspect of the urinary blockage.

A blockage causes a dilation of the urinary tract. This occurs most commonly due to a stone which may have then been flushed out.

Mild dilation should not affect the function of the kidneys so you should still have normal function unless there is another issue present.

I hope this helps
