General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Constipation or hardening of stools is possible while taking broad spectrum antibiotics due to changes in gut Flora. Taking stool softeners like lactulose will be helpful. If that is not helping then Bisacodyl suppositories can be used.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
