What Does An ESR Level Of 30mm/hr Indicate?

My ESR level is 30mm/hr Is it high ? I have also irregular menstruation problem My periods cycle is about 40 days and my age is 18 years I am also overweight and my triglycerides level is168mg/dl Please guide me does high ESR affects menstruation cycle

Thanks for writing in.

ESR is erythrocyte sedimentation rate and shows the rate at which the red blood cells in a sample settle down usually measured after 1 hour.

The ESR is usually from 0 to 22 mm at the end of 1 hour. It can be increased in many disease conditions including fever, cold, inflammation, cancer, arthritis and any other illnesses. Gynecological conditions causing increase in ESR can affect menstruation. Your ESR is slightly raised and not a concern.

It is not possible to make a diagnosis based on ESR and a complete medical check up is suggested if there is persisting raised ESR levels.
