What Does An Abscess Near The Clitoris Indicate?

I was diagnosed with an abscess near my clitoris yesterday and placed on antibiotics to help the infection. I started with irritation on Tuesday morning, got progressively worse each day, saw doctor Thursday afternoon and am still in significant pain Friday evening. Worried because my doctors are not in for the weekend and it seems to not be improving. Should the medicine start to kick in shortly? Really hoping it won t need to be surgically drained.

Welcome to HCM.Your Antibiotic should start working btn 24-48 hrs. Do continue taking OTC Motrin/ Tylenol 3-4times a day for pain relief. Sitz bath may also be helpful for temporary soothing. Continue your antibiotic until you see your physician. Hope that helps for a while.
