What Does An Itchy Bruise On Buttock Post A Bug Bite Suggest?

Hi, I thought that I got bit by a mosquito on my left butt cheek because it was itchy and felt like a bite. I had itched it for a while that night. When I woke up the area was painful but I didn t think anything of it until I looked in the mirror later at night and saw a HUGE bruise on my left butt cheek. What could this be? Alli

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you had insect bite which get bruised . The symptoms you mention in query can occur due to various reasons . like sometimes sting remains inside wound , allergic reaction due to poisonous sting or other skin problem . I would suggest you to wash that area properly with soap and cold water , apply moisturizer and take antihistamine like benadryl . Also take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for main and itchiness . If condition doesn't get improve within 24 hours then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may give steroid injection , adrenaline shot or antibiotics .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
